'The Flash' News: Episode 6 'The Flash is Born' Recap, Episode 7 Plot

On last Tuesday's episode of "The Flash," a metahuman threatens Iris' life, and Barry learns that he has to control his emotions to be able to fight better.

The episode, titled "The Flash is Born" opens with Iris writing another blog post about The Streak, and The Flash shows up and takes her to the roof and asks her to stop blogging about him. Their conversation is cut short when he hears police sirens, and he takes off to help.

The police are in pursuit of a man driving a Hummer and Joe and Eddie set up a barricade to stop him. The Hummer is being driven by Tony Woodward, and it turns out that he used to bully Barry back in elementary school. A young boy starts to cross the road, and Barry manages to save him before getting hit. Police fire bullets at Tony, but they do little damage and bounce off him. It turns out that Tony can turn his body into metal, which could be a huge problem for Barry if he takes him on.

Back at the labs, the team gets to work on training Barry to fight Tony. Then, Tony shows up at Iris' office, and it appears that he has always liked her. He gets to the point of his visit and asks her what she knows about The Streak. He stops her from calling anyone by crushing her phone, but before he leaves, he drops a wad of cash on her desk.

Iris immediately takes to her blog to write about what happened, and after reading it, Barry takes off to find Tony. Their second encounter ends disastrously as Tony leaves him trapped beneath some shelves. Cisco and Caitlin rescue Barry and back at the labs, Cisco says that Barry should hit Tony at 837 mph—which could create a sonic boom, and possibly defeat Tony. But if Barry does it wrong, it could break every bone in his body.

Later, while Eddie and Barry are working out, a cop tells them that Tony has kidnapped Iris. Barry heads to their old elementary school where Iris is being held hostage, and with his new skills, he manages to evade Tony's punches. Then, he backs up and delivers the supersonic punch.

After Tony is locked up, Iris and Barry talk, and he gives her an idea for The Streak's new name—The Flash.

Meanwhile, here is the official synopsis for episode 7, titled "Power Outage."

"The Flash goes up against Farooq aka Blackout, a metahuman who can harness electricity. During their battle, Farooq zaps The Flash and siphons all his electricity, leaving The Flash without his speed. Dr. Wells, Caitlin and Cisco work to reverse the effects on Barry, but their efforts are disrupted when Farooq comes banging on S.T.A.R. Labs doors in search of Wells, who he blames for his accident. Without Barry's powers to protect them, the group must figure out a way to save themselves from the metahuman."

"The Flash" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on The CW.
