'The Flash' Season 4 Spoilers: Tension Between Iris and Cecile to Escalate

Iris (Candice Patton) will doubt Cecile's (Danielle Nicolet) integrity in the upcoming season of "The Flash."

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Patton revealed that the tension between her character and Joe's (Jesse L. Martin) girlfriend would continue. Last season, Joe confessed to Cecile that Barry (Grant Gustin) was the red speedster. The prosecutor had an interesting expression on her face when she finally learned the truth. Speculations indicate that Cecille will end up making problems for Barry due to her inability to stay quiet about his identity. This will, in turn, affect her relationship with Iris.

"They have their own interpersonal relationship drama that will go down this season. Iris really respects Cecile. I think she knows how much Cecile makes her dad happy, so in Iris' eyes, she's a welcome addition to the family. You'll just have to wait and see how that whole thing between them plays out," Patton said.

Meanwhile, the promo for the premiere episode showed that Iris will be abducted by a monster that looks like a samurai. Spoilers reveal that the enemy will arrive in Central City and takes a liking to Iris. Joe will try to do his best to save his daughter, but his efforts will be in vain. Someone needs to step up and rescue Iris, but who? Barry certainly looks like he is too sick to do it. The speedster is set to return in the first episode following his long stay in the Speed Force.

Barry will look like a hollow version of his original self when he eventually gets out of the Speed Force. His hair is longer and unkept and he has a beard and a mustache. He cannot even recognize his own girlfriend. It has been teased that it would take a while for Barry to understand that he is back home.

"The Flash" season 4 will premiere on Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
