'The Good Wife' Season 6: Episode 16 Recap 'Red Meat'

On Sunday's episode of "The Good Wife," Alicia's political future is on the line when Peter gives an interview that could influence voter turnout on Election Day. Meanwhile, a weekend getaway with Kurt and his friends could lead Diane to a prosperous new client for the firm.

"Red Meat" starts with Alicia and Peter sharing a ride as they head to an event for a final campaign appearance. Peter is still angry at Alicia because of what she said about him at the Black Business Leaders Luncheon, and the two appear to be very cold to each other during the car ride as Peter says, "So you don't personally think I'm a racist, but saw political advantage in calling me a racist?"

"Let's just get through this. Then we can go back to you using me politically," Alicia retorts.

Meanwhile, Diane is on a skiing trip with her husband Kurt and his friends. She sees Gil Berridge, a famous tech billionaire who might be looking for new legal representation. She talks to Kurt about joining him and Gil in a hunting blind, but later she learns that the wives are supposed to have a spa day.

Back in Chicago, Finn brings Alicia a present: a copy of "Halo." Lemon Bishop calls to wish Alicia luck. Alicia is happy about Finn's gift, and is troubled when Bishop calls her because she has been trying to distance herself from the drug dealer.

Peter begins his press tour and says that he guarantees that Alicia will win the election. Jon tells Alicia that Peter's statement could hurt voter turnout, so Jon and Josh scramble to do some damage control.

Alicia shows up at Peter's next appearance and she realizes that he doesn't want her to win.

"You want to be the only winner in the family," she accuses him. He denies this. At Alicia's insistence, he cancels his other election-day interviews.

In Montana, Diane is at the spa and is listening to the wives as they disparage Obamacare. Cary and David call her on the phone to tell her that Berridge is looking for a law firm. David advises her to "get the wife" to get Berridge on board. Diane immediately talks to Berridge's wife, Georgette.

Later, Kurt calls Diane and asks her to bring him his rifle. Diane shows up at the blind in her hunting gear, fully intending to join the men so she could talk to Berridge. However, it doesn't go well and Berridge moves to another blind. It turns out that Georgette is not his wife, she's his mistress.

Another guest, R.D., explains that they'd been letting Berridge get away with it for some time now. Diane and R.D. get to talking and they hit it off, despite the fact that they don't see eye to eye on a lot of issues.

Cary and David call again, and Diane tells them that they won't be getting Berridge as their new client. They tell her that America's fourth richest man, Reese Diffle, is there, and he might be interested to have their firm represent him. Reese Diffle happens to be R.D.

At the lodge, R.D. sits next to Diane and asks why she hasn't pitched him yet. She tells him that her firm won't argue any anti-choice cases, or pro-life cases, and R.D. tells her to call him on Friday.

In Chicago, Alicia is prepared to deliver her concession speech when Peter makes a speech that causes traffic to hit a standstill. Peter kills Prady's turnout, and CBS anchor Rob Johnson calls the race for Alicia.

"The Good Wife" airs on Sundays at 9/8c on CBS.
