'The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD' Release Date Set For March 4, 2016 Ahead Of 30th Anniversary Of 'Zelda' Series

Fans of the 30-year-old game series, "Legend of Zelda," will be immensely pleased to know that in a recent episode of "Nintendo Direct," Nintendo executives said that the HD - high-definition - version of "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess" is scheduled to release for the Wii U on March 4, 2016 worldwide. It will also be released in Japan on March 10. This game is the thirteeth installment in the "Legend Of Zelda" series.

"The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess" is an action-adventure game by Nintendo. It was the last "The Legend of Zelda game for the GameCube and the first Wii "Zelda" game. This was also the first Zelda game to be given a 12+ by PEGI as it contained lots of violent sequences and gore. The game's Wii version was released in America on November 19, 2006 and was released in Japan a fortnight later.

The present game is a remake in HD version that was announced by Nintendo Direct on Nov. 12, 2015. With this announcement, a new trailer was released that talked about the game.

The game's story is about Link and his mission to prevent the kingdom of Hyrule from getting overrun by the dark forces of the Twilight Realm, which exists as a parallel dimension.

The game is set to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the Zelda series and has been developed in tandem with Tantalus Media, Australia.

The game will be compatible with Nintendo's amiibo figurines. This will enable players to smoothly transfer data between the different games. Also available is the new "Twilight Princess" amiibo figurine which shows Midna astride Wolf Link, commonly called the Wolf Link figurine.

Pricing for the game for the US has not been specified. However, players can estimate as the game's Japanese version is priced at 5,700 yen, The Wolf Link figurine comes for 1,500 yen. There is also a special bundle that is set to retail at 6,700 yen and it includes the game, the figurine and a copy of the game's official soundtrack.
