"The Maze Runner: The Death Cure" Movie News: Shooting of the Movie on a Temporary Hold, Will Resume Once Dylan O'Brien is Fit Enough to Shoot His Scenes

Despite the uncertainty on when Dylan O'Brien can be fit enough to resume shooting his scenes for "The Maze Runner: The Death Cure," the production team behind the movie is willing to wait for him to fully recover and be in the pink once more before resuming the production for the said film.

According to E! News, the production is undergoing some hiatus for the meantime and will just resume once O'Brien has recovered from the injuries he sustained from an accident during the shoot last March 18. In line with this, Fox released a statement, explaining the move to temporarily shelve the shooting of the movie.

"The resumption of principal photography on Maze Runner: The Death Cure has been further delayed to allow Dylan O'Brien more time to fully recover from his injuries. We wish Dylan a speedy recovery and look forward to restarting production as soon as possible," the statement goes.

With the temporary shelving of the film, it is now uncertain if it may still make it to its scheduled showing date of Feb. 17, 2017.

O'Brien sustained serious injuries after he accidentally fell off his motorcycle while filming a scene for "Maize Runner: The Death Cure." It was reported that he hit his head on the pavement and lost consciousness for a while immediately after the crash. The accident left him a concussion, facial fracture and lacerations.

However, according to the sources of The Hollywood Reporter, O'Brien was in a harness on a top of speeding vehicle when he was accidentally pulled off, resulting in him getting hit unexpectedly by another vehicle.

Whatever the truth is, the good news to all the fans of O'Brien is that the actor is now on his way to recovery. According to his co-star Giancarlo Esposito, the actor is healing pretty well.

"He's one tough cookie," Esposito said in his interview with E! News last month.
