'The Mentalist' Season 7 Spoilers, Plot News: What to Expect in 'Byzantium'

Tension and suspense are getting more intense as the hit police-procedural drama TV series "The Mentalist" edges closer to its end in Season 7. But before the show takes its grand bow, fans will still get to see more action in this week's episode.

Titled "Byzantium," spoiler reports suggest that viewers should expect to see the story basically pick up from where it left off in the last episode. Last segment saw Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) having doubts about the nature of his career, which included the death of colleagues.

Right after the demise of a rookie agent, Jane opted to get out of the force and even asked Theresa Lisbon (Robin Tunney) to join him. The latter didn't give him a sure answer.

But for those wondering if Jane is still with the FBI, the recently-released promo for episode 11 still show the consultant working with the Bureau. It was even teased that there's a good reason for Jane to stay for a bit longer.

According to Carter Matt: "The story of this episode is simple enough: The FBI needs him to gauge whether or not a "psychic" is being truthful, or could be behind a series of potential killings. Whatever the reason is, it does feel like the bureau does enough to convince Jane to come back."

A full synopsis for "Byzantium" was provided by The Futon Critic and it reads:

"A young man claiming to have psychic powers offers his help to the FBI in solving a pair of murders, but when he leads them to additional victims, Jane and the team begin to suspect that he is in fact the killer they're hunting."

"The Mentalist" Season 7 airs on Wednesdays, at 8 p.m. on CBS.
