The Roots' 'Questlove' Receives Racist Insults After Jimmy Fallon 'Bachmann Joke'

Questlove, bandleader and drummer from the Grammy Award winning hip-hop group The Roots, has said he has been receiving racial slurs from angered Michele Bachmann supporters after the recent “Bachmann pun” on the Late Show With Jimmy Fallon.

After drumming part of an anti-Michele Bachmann tune entitled “Lyin’ A** B****” on the Late Show, Questlove says he has received a lot of hateful words from the Republican presidential candidate’s supporters.

According to Pitchfork.com the drummer said, "I've seen some really colorful epithets in the past four days, but 'n***er f***head ghetto stick' is probably the one that takes the cake. I'm still trying to get my head around that one.”

Questlove had to block many of his twitter followers who were also Bachmann supporters angered by the joke. He tweeted: "Blocking 3,500 tea party extremists in a three day period is no fun, especially when you're a drummer dangerously close to carpal tunnel. In the end, was it worth it? Absolutely not."

The musician has apologized for the incident, as has NBC on behalf of the program.

“Those who truly know me know that that's not me. I was really just going with her whole revisionist history angle, I wasn't calling it out on her being a woman,” said the bandleader.

"This is clearly a form of bias on the part of the Hollywood entertainment elite," Bachmann said to Fox News Channel after the show aired. "This wouldn't be tolerated if this was Michelle Obama. It shouldn't be tolerated if it's a conservative woman either."
