'The Strain' Season 2 News, Spoilers: Episode 8 Synopsis Teased Events in "Intruders"

The last week's episode of FX's hit TV series, "The Strain," revealed that although Eph may have failed to fully weaponize the bioweapon formula that he and Nora made, he still got some other plans that could put a stop on the vampire epidemic: kill Eldritch Palmer.

However, the latest spoiler reports (International Business Times) for the next episode titled "Intruder" suggest that the former CDC personnel may have to stall his deadly plans in order to protect what belongs to him.

Citing TV Guide, the synopsis shared over at IBT said that Eph will have to protect Zach "from a surprise intruder in Red Hook." Followers of the show might be quick to deduce that this intruder is none other than Zach's mother and Eph's estranged wife, Kelly.

Bestowed with control over the much quicker and deadlier class of Strigois, the Feelers, Kelly has been on the trail for the past episodes looking for Zach. She did manage to get close on him in Episode 6 but the chance slipped away when Setrakian and the gang arrived.

The promo video for Episode 8 once again showed Eph explaining to Zach that the person he had known before was not his mother anymore.

"Your mother is dead, a creature took over her body, her one goal is to turn you," Eph tells his son.

The synopsis meanwhile mentioned that the issue about the Occido Lumen will be tackled this week. It is said that Fet and the elderly professor will try to purchase the book which is believed to be the only key to stop the Master. However, things might not be easy for the two as they will discover that there is another party who is also interested in getting their hands on the book.

Could this once again be the Stoneheart head? Earlier flashbacks revealed that Eldritch and Setrakian are on the hunt for the mystical book. Theories also indicate that the competitor could be the half human and half strigoi, Mr. Quinlan. The newcomer is apparently also hellbent on putting down the Master.

Find out more of these interesting developments when "The Strain" Season 2 airs this Sunday, August 30, at 10 p.m. on FX.
