'The Walking Dead: Michonne, A Telltale Game Series' Release Date Confirmed As February 23

Fans of the comic book series are getting extra excited after Telltale Games announced that an episodic miniseries titled "The Walking Dead: Michonne" will be releasing the first of three episodes on February 23 for the PC and Mac, PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360. It will also be released for iOS and Android devices a few days later, on February 25.

The first episode titled "In Too Deep" will premiere on February 23, according to an IGN report. The miniseries will follow the story of Michonne after she disappeared in the comics storyline, revealing that the zombie hunter became a pirate and has taken her fight against the undead to sea. According to an Engadget report, the first episode shows Michonne on the ship "The Companion" which travels along the coastline looking for survivors and scavenging for supplies. The ship's crew is called to a floating survivor's colony where a massacre has just occurred. Michonne, together with the rest of the crew, must now find out what happened and catch the person responsible for the massacre.

While Michonne is trying her best to help her companions, the report also said that the miniseries will also reveal why Michonne left the rest of her group, namely Rick, Ezekiel and others, and why and how she will eventually come back to the fold.

There will be two other episodes to be released: episode 2 titled "Give No Shelter" will be released in March while episode 3 titled "What We Deserve" will be released in April. Players can, however, purchase all three episodes for only $15.

An extended preview of the first episode showing gameplay mechanics with developer commentary will be available on February 14 at 8:30 p.m. EST on the Telltale's YouTube channel.
