'The Walking Dead' News, Update: Cast Member Lauren Cohan Reveals A 'Suffocating' Season 6

The anticipation for the return of AMC's hit post-apocalyptic drama series "The Walking Dead" into the television is getting more intense as the weeks pass by. Thankfully, there are cast members who are more than willing to offer some insights as to what Season 6 would look like.

Actress Lauren Cohan recently sat down with the people from Entertainment Weekly this week to dish out some details about the upcoming season. During the conversation, the star, who plays Maggie Greene in the show, described the opening of the new chapter as very "suffocating."

"I don't know if anybody has said this yet but we always joke that the writers write these amazing action sequences from air-conditioned offices," Cohan told EW. "And I think this season is no exception and definitely rises above. We have the most suffocating beginning to the season that I've experienced yet."

The 33-year-old went on to divulge that a lot of the characters will still be having a hard time adjusting to the "civilized, domestic environment" of Alexandria. She teased that fans will indeed see the group making efforts to assimilate themselves in "a more regimented society."

Needless to say, the transition won't be that easy for Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and the rest of the crew as they see these changes not as necessities but as "challenges."

"…it's about being really challenged," she said (via EW). "…we'll see a ton of challenges and we'll see people the audience has been introduced to as very stable reliable characters crumbling, and I think it's going to be pretty scary."

Cohan's co-star, Norman Reedus, also spoke in the same vein in a separate interview with EW. The actor, who portrays the often ill-tempered and volatile Daryl Dixon likened the pack he shared with Rick as a "bunch of wild animals" who finds it hard to live in a caged world; a group of people who undergoes an "inner turmoil" trying to discover if living in a community different from their own is possible.
