After tests confirmed that Adam Newman was dead, Chelsea tried to fathom her life without him. The character, played by fan favorite Michael Muhney, was killed in a car accident. However, there have been continual rumors that Muhney will be rehired at a later time to resume portraying Adam. For now, though, fans and Genoa City residents will be forced to mourn the loss. Yet a mystery is brewing, with the appearance of a stranger handing out cash to residents. Is this man trying to pay off people into believing that Adam is dead? Or is he working for another purpose.

According to We Love Soaps, Adam's father Victor and his wife Chelsea Newman will "try to deal with the unexpected news." This only adds to the conclusion that Adam is, for now at least, dead and gone. The site also states that Victor will try to move on with his grief by remembering times he shared with his son.
