Third Day signs with Provident Label Group

Third Day will be making another change in record contracts, from its contract with Essential Records to signing with Provident Label Group.

"We were originally signed seven years ago by Terry Hemmings who was, at the time, president of Reunion Records. Later, we moved to Essential Records where we’ve grown over the last six years," commented lead vocalist, Mac Powell. "We believe strongly in the partnership with Provident Label Group and are enjoying working with Terry and the rest of the team."

Hemmings, President and CEO of Provident Music Group, is looking more than looking forward to working with the band. "There is no doubt that this band has set a higher bar for all of us in the Christian music industry. We see very exciting things developing for 2004 as the band continues to evolve and grow."

The group was recently received a GRAMMY nomination for the album Offering II in the Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album category. Just in February, the group took home a GRAMMY for Come Together in the Best Rock/Gospel Album category, a Song of the Year ASCAP Award and a nod from the American Music Awards as Best Artist in the Contemporary Inspirational Music category.

The growth Third Day experienced during its career is amazing. 19 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards, 19 No. 1 radio singles, a GRAMMY Award, multiple ASCAP honors, four gold records and career sales nearing the four million mark are the group’s obvious achievements. Crowds totaling over 750,000 participated in Third Day’s tours in 2002, which claimed them a spot on touring magazine Pollstar’s "Top 100 Tours of 2002."

For 2004, the band schedules its 2004 release with producer Paul Ebersold and a set of spring and fall tours to visit 80 cities.
