'Thor 3' Movie Latest News: 'Ragnarok' Revealed

Third sequel of Marvel's "Thor" is yet to come out sometime in 2016 or earlier in 2017. Fans are already wondering who will be the next enemy that the Asgardian god of thunder will vanquish and what will be the title for the next installment.

According to numerous speculations it could be that the next title would be "Thor 3: Ragnarok." This has been shed light by the Thor actor himself, Chris Hemsworth, when he spoke with Screenrant's Kofi Outlaw during a press interview for "Thor: The Dark World."

"I think that in the comic book the sort of end of days, Armageddon aspect is probably the direction in which it will all head in," the actor said. "Where it's sort of the end of all things and there's obviously no script or anything when I read the comic books I thought it was an interesting way to go."

With "Armageddon," the 31-year-old Australian actor could mean Ragnarok, an apocalypse that sees the end of Asgard. The event, when referred to the Marvel comics cannon, could be the next logical story for the film to tackle. The idea has been somewhat verified when executive producer Craig Kyle said that "it is an important storyline from the comics."

"Ragnarok" could also mean that the wielder of the mighty hammer Mjolnir will be facing one of the greatest enemies, Surtur and his minions Fire Demons from Muspelheim. Standing over a thousand feet tall, holding the Sword of Doom while at the same time possessing the ability to generate heat and flames, manipulate matter, levitate, and do inter-dimensional travel, Thor's will and power would once again be tested against this formidable foe.

Earlier this year, Marvel confirmed Kyle and Christopher Yost's role in writing the screenplay for "Thor 3,"
with Kevin Feige returning as its producer.
