'Thor: Ragnarok' News, Release Date: New Clip Shows Loki Engaging in Knife Fight with Valkyrie

A new clip promoting the next movie in the "Thor" franchise has just been released, showing Loki engaging in a knife fight with Valkyrie. The latest promo video isn't the first to feature Loki's hand-in-hand combat, as the first teaser trailer that was dropped months ago already teased his knife-wielding exploits.

Played by Tom Hiddleston, Loki is the villainous adoptive brother of the God of Thunder who will join Thor (Chris Hemsworth) in his battle against Cate Blanchett's Hela in "Thor: Ragnarok." On the other hand, Valkyrie, played by Tessa Thompson, is one of the servants of the Grandmaster. As the story progresses, she will join the team organized by Thor to fight Hela and will emerge as Loki's new love interest.

The new promo video for "Thor: Ragnarok" surfaced over the weekend via Tumblr blog that goes by the name Bella Gothic. The promo was initially part of a more extended clip featuring a recent interview with Thompson, who described her character as the mighty and dangerous female warrior of Asgard.

In the clip, Loki looks seemingly honored to engage in hand-to-hand combat with Valkyrie. Although Loki is known for being a proficient fighter, the new clip reveals that Valkyrie is capable of beating him in their battle.

The clip also reveals the female warrior's unique sense of humor, although she looks serious in her fight with Loki. Towards the end of their combat, Valkyrie tells Loki, "Choose your next words wisely," before ultimately subduing him. After their fight, Loki stares up at Valkyrie, looking impressed.

"Thor: Ragnarok" will focus on Valkyrie as part of Team Thor but will also explore the female warrior's relationship with the Grandmaster back when she was still on Sakaar. The movie will reveal that she was left on the planet after a previous battle with Hela.

"Thor: Ragnarok" will hit theaters on Nov. 3, 2017.
