"I've only done action a couple of times," she explained. "It feels like a… departure is too strong a word, but it certainly feels like a change for me."

According to the multi-awarded actress and theater director, she is looking forward to "getting really fit," "wearing Lycra," and "earn[ing] a bit of a street cred" from her four young children.

Though Blanchett's role in the third "Thor" stand-alone film is still a mystery, it is rumored that the actress will play a villain who could either be Hela or the Enchantress.

Meanwhile, "Crimson Peak" actor Tom Hiddleston, who plays the "Thor" villain Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, recently spoke about reprising his role for "Thor: Ragnarok."

Speaking to The Daily Beast, the actor said, "Thor 3 will be cool because I've not done it for four years."

"I love working with Chris [Hemsworth]," he said, adding, "This will be my last time out of the gate."

When asked if this means that he will not be in the upcoming two-part "Avengers: Infinity War," Hiddleston backtracked and admitted that he actually doesn't know what's in store for Loki in the MCU future.

"They haven't got their ducks in a row yet," he said. "They make it up as they go along."

Before returning as the mischievous villain, Hiddleston will star in "Kong: Skull Island," which drops March 10 next year, alongside "Room" actress Brie Larson and his "Avengers" co-star Samuel L. Jackson.

"Thor: Ragnarok" will begin filming in Australia later this year.

The film is set for release Nov. 3, 2017.
