Tim Tebow's non-profit foundation has reportedly purchased land on the famed Bear Creek Township where a number of hiking trails and wildlife in Pennsylvania is located.

While it is unclear what the 3,000 acres of land that were purchased will be used for, The Citizen's Voice is reporting that the foundation belonging to the famed football-player-turned-television personality's foundation purchased the land for $5,150,000. The foundation's new plot of land sits between the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Bear Creek Boulevard, with an additional 1,253 acres on White Haven Road within the Bear Creek Township.

According to Pennsylvania-based website The Citizen's Voice, owners Jeanie and William Haas sold their land with a focus on preserving it for "public recreation and education." According to Bear Creek Village Mayor Walter Mitchell, the Haas family hold devout Christian beliefs similar to that of Tebow.

"They are extremely faithful to their gospel and they live it every day of their lives," Mitchell said. "They're contributing citizens to our borough and we're very lucky they live here."

While it remains to be seen what will become of the purchase made by Tebow's foundation, he has made it clear that his focus is on humanitarian efforts. Last year, the foundation opened The Tebow CURE Hospital in Davao City, Philippines to provide care to low income children with critical orthopedic needs.

The hospital has partnered with Christian organization CURE International to perform 100 surgeries since its opening, which is being showcased on the Tim Tebow Foundation website.

"The Tebow CURE Hospital is the result of years of planning, building, and praying without ceasing. After opening its doors in December, we are so excited to announce that we recently admitted our 100th patient for surgery," reads a statement from the foundation. "100 surgeries is a major accomplishment for TCH and a true testament to the faithfulness of our Lord. But, the number is not the focus, rather the 100 stories of healing and renewed lives behind each and every surgery."

Tebow spoke to People magazine about his goal for the hospital in 2014.

"I hope that when I'm 90 years old, I've accomplished a legacy that isn't all about me. I hope it's a legacy about the people who our foundation helps," Tebow previously told People magazine. "We're about to open a hospital in the Philippines. We'll have this hospital where we can help kids who are hurting; healing them physically, but encouraging them emotionally and spiritually as well."
