'Timeless' Season 2 Spoilers: Rufus Gears Up to Avenge Jiya

Rufus (Malcolm Barrett) will make sure that Jiya (Claudia Doumit) gets the justice she deserves in the next installment of "Timeless."

Spoilers for the new season indicate that no one is safe in Team Time. Now that they have declared war against the Rittenhouse, the mysterious organization who stole the time machine, the members must protect each other at all times. It has been speculated that Carol's (Susanna Thompson) cult would show no mercy in eliminating the enemies to get what it wants. Killing a few individuals will not be such a huge task, as long as it succeeds in the end.

While Jiya's recovery will be first in Rufus' priorities, he also wants to get revenge for what happened to her. After all, if Jiya was not forced to pilot the time machine, she would not be experiencing the anomalies she has now. His first target will be Flynn (Goran Višnjić), but they need the criminal's help in their fight against the Rittenhouse. Perhaps, once they have secured the time machine, Rufus can finally face off with Flynn and avenge what happened to his girlfriend.

In a November interview with Buddy TV, Doumit said that Rufus has come a long way from being the quiet co-worker Jiya used to know. Their relationship has definitely progressed and viewers would get to see this change in the new installment.

"I think Jiya and Rufus' relationship definitely changes completely. Because in the beginning, initially, the only interaction they have with each other is working two desks away from one another and their only interaction is probably to talk about the progress of the lifeboat or anything like that, just work-related. Rufus is a pretty timid guy when it comes to Jiya... as we go forward, the dynamic of that relationship definitely shifts, it definitely changes," Doumit explained.

NBC has not yet released any updates about "Timeless" season 2, but the show is expected to return in 2018.
