Tori Spelling Slams Katie Holmes as 'Plastic, Robot'

Tori Spelling ripped Katie Holmes apart for being "plastic" in an excerpt from her new memoir, "Spelling It Like It Is."

The former "Beverly Hills, 90210" actress candidly described an interaction with Holmes as being incredibly awkward and even offensive, according to Radar Online.

While waiting for a session with voice coach Eric Vetro, Spelling said she overheard the "Dawson's Creek" actress singing off-key. Following their run-in, Spelling said Holmes' demeanor put her on edge.

"I didn't know whether we should hug or shake hands," she wrote. "But the signal from her was immediately clear; don't even come close. I instantly got nervous."

Spelling noted that her encounter with Holmes took place just before the actress' high profile divorce from Tom Cruise in July 2012.

"We certainly weren't going to talk about her husband, Tom Cruise," Spelling recalled.

As a result, the mother-of-four resorted to asking about Holmes' daughter, Suri Cruise, but that in turn, Holmes was unaware of her four children with Dean McDermott.

"Then I was annoyed," Spelling writes. "Come on. Okay, I know you're busy. But you're in the public eye. Don't tell me you don't follow the tabloids. Don't tell me you don't know anything about other celebrities and their kids … Then we stood there, she was just plastic."

Without stopping there, Spelling went on to compare Holmes to a robot before revealing pity for the actress.

"I thought, I know you're not a robot because you can't sing for s---," Spelling recalled. "As my anxiety faded, I just felt sorry for her. I felt sad for her. Those paparazzi photos, the ones where she looks like she's miserable but putting on a happy face? That's what she looked like in person."

Meanwhile, last week, Spelling and her husband Dean McDermott faced reports that they were broke following a different excerpt in Spelling's memoir pertaining to their finances.

Furthermore, the reports indicated that McDermott had to cancel undergoing a vasectomy because of its cost.

Days later, McDermott denied being broke, but did consent that he and Spelling had faced ups and downs.

"Right now things are going well," he said to Us Weekly. "I have several exciting projects in the works. Could we afford a vasectomy? Probably. Was it a tougher time for us financially? Yeah, for sure. That's just the truth of it- it's the nature of this business."
