HBO has released a sneak peek at season five of its hit television series "True Blood."
The trailer was revealed during the season premiere of HBO's "Game of Thrones" on Sunday and has since swept the internet.
Anna Paquin, her real life husband Stephen Moyer, and Alexander Skarsgard star in the vampire drama which was created by producer Alan Ball. "True Blood" is based on "The Southern Vampire Mysteries" series of novels by Charlaine Harris, which also takes place in the fictional Louisiana town of Bon Temps.
The series has received critical acclaim since its premiere in 2007, and has earned one Golden Globe and an Emmy award.
"True Blood" will air 12 episodes this summer, although the date for the premiere of season five has not yet been announced.
The 30-second trailer reveals Sookie Stackhouse, portrayed by Paquin, still torn between vampires Bill and Eric, played by Moyer and Skarsgard, respectively.
Sookie's brother, Jason Stackhouse appears in the teaser. Absent from the clip was Sookie's best friend Tara, portrayed by Rutina Wesley, who was believed to have died during the last episode of season four.
On Twitter, "True Blood" fans have reacted to the preview of season five.
"True Blood trailer is so good," wrote Sam. "I can't wait until June."
Viewers are anxiously anticipating the season five premiere and sharing their excitement on Twitter also.
"Finished watching all of True Blood. Now have to wait 2 months? #sadface," wrote Doug.
"I can't wait until True Blood starts again this summer," posted Courtney.
Paulie wrote, "So excited for the new season of True Blood beginning in June."

In addition to season five of "True Blood," HBO is set to release a cookbook inspired by the series.
"Eats, drinks, and bites from Bon Temps" will be featured in "True Blood Cookbook," complete with pictures and recipes. It is available for pre-order and ships August 29.
