Italy has expressed its determination to win for its Monday night matchup versus Spain for the UEFA Euro 2016 Round of 16.

Coach Antonio Conte Positive of a Win for Italy

Italian coach Antonio Conte mentioned in a UEFA official report that they are ready to "pull a shock" versus their opponents, which defeated them both in 2008 and 2012. He added that his players have a lot of respect for the Spanish players and recognize their talent and skills on the field.

Facing this powerful team, Conte said all of his men prepared and worked hard for this game. "It's a last-16 game which will have no tomorrow for one of us. We must not have any regrets," he added.

The Italian coach said they already have an organized defensive strategy but would need to improve on their offense for Monday's faceoff.

Winner to Take on Germany

On the contrary, Spain believes that facing Italy will also be a tough match for them. Striker Alvaro Morata said that the upcoming match will be one of the most important games in his career. Whoever wins on Monday will battle it out with the Germans this coming weekend.

Morata is expected to be one of the star players since he has already recorded three goals for his team for the 2016 tournament. He will go up against Juventus teammates Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini and Andrea Barzagli.

Spanish coach Vicente del Bosque also told UEFA that his team should not be underestimated since they have already beaten Italy during the previous European Championship. He explained that they did not make any major changes with their lineup and gameplay coming into Monday's game.

"I think we've got a good idea about how we want to play in relation to the players we've called up," he noted.

Spain Predicted to Win

The two teams have fought more than 30 times with both winning 10 games each and 14 draws. If past matches will be considered, Spain can be more powerful than Italy, besting the latter in two earlier competitions. Reports also predict that Spain will emerge victorious and dominate against the Italians.
