UFC 195 Fight News: Robbie Lawler Squashes Injury Rumors, Carlos Condit Likes McGregor's 'Movement' Concept

UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler recently squashed some injury rumors that had been floating around about him.

"Ruthless" is slated to face former interim welterweight champion Carlos Condit on January 2nd at UFC 195 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. He will be embarking on his second straight title defense.

In a report by MMA Fighting, Lawler says he had been receiving calls from people, asking if he is hurt. The 33-year old mixed martial arts veteran adds that he has been unaware about the said reports since he is not that active on social media.

The report adds that a fight shop in Ontario, Canada called Warrior Fight Store posted a sign on its door, stating that people who bout tickets for UFC 195 would be offered a refund, given Lawler's injury, which supposedly led to the fight's cancellation. Lawler also went on to deem the said news as mere rumors.'

"I wasn't injured and I definitely wasn't going up to Canada four weeks before my fight," Lawler said, who also confirmed that he never had any form of communication with anyone for the said shop.

Meanwhile, challenger Carlos Condit has declared himself to be a fan of featherweight champion Conor McGregor's concept on movement. "The Natural Born Killer" had recently begun working out with MovNat's movement coach Erwan Le Corre as an addition to his training regimen.

And in another report by MMA Fighting, Condit says the said workout has been greatly helpful, both for his athleticism and the rehab of his knee, which he injured at UFC 171 in March 2014.

"I think it's helped me just really getting back to the fundamentals of positioning and balance. A lot of times we work for strength and intensity, and we maybe bypass some more simple technical things," Condit said.

Co-headlining UFC 195 is a heavyweight bout between top contender Stipe Miocic, and former champion Andre Arlovksi.
