Usher Stepson and Life Support: Kyle to be Taken Off Machine When Insurance Runs Out?

Usher's stepson Kyle Glover, the 11-year-son of Tameka Foster, may soon be taken off life support because his insurance is running out. Kyle, who was declared brain dead following a jet ski accident, may be removed from life support as early as next month but his mom is telling friends she still believes in miracles.

TMZ reported that Usher's ex-wife Tameka can only keep Kyle on life support as long as her insurance covers the massive hospital bills. Though the insurance company has not given a deadline, it is willing to pay for Kyle's medical expenses for only "a couple of months...tops."

Tameka is not giving up hope that Kyle can make a drastic recovery, telling friends that she still believes in miracles, according to TMZ. Last week, his family released a statement asking for prayers for Kyle.

"We know God's in control, and are leaning on our faith in Him and His word at this most difficult time," the family said a statement to CNN.

"We firmly believe in the power of prayer and ask that you all continue to pray and lift Kile up, as it's the best way we can all support him now."

Usher, who raised Kyle for several years, has not offered any financial help for his stepson's medical bills, reported TMZ.

Kyle is still fighting for his life at Children's Healthcare at Egelston Hospital in Atlanta after a jet ski accident on July 6. He was struck by a jet ski at Atlanta's Lake Lanier while playing with a friend on an inner tube. He was struck in the head by the jet ski and knocked immediately unconscious. He was then airlifted to a children's hospital in Atlanta where his mother has been at his bedside since she arrived.

The operator of the jet ski has been identified as a family friend, 38-year-old Jeffrey S. Hubbard, according to Georgia Department of Natural Resources. Hubbard was reportedly part of the same group on the outing on the lake.

No charges have been filed. Police are still investigating the incident but say alcohol did not play a role in the accident.

Kyle is Usher's stepson with Foster. The couple divorced in 2009 after two years of marriage. Usher and Foster have two biological sons, Usher Raymond V, 4, and Naviyd, 3. Kyle is Foster's son from a previous relationship.
