Verlander and Upton's Relationship 'In A Great Spot,' Says MLB Star

Justin Verlander of the Detroit Tigers recently commented on his relationship with Kate Upton.

While the pair have had an on-again, off-again relationship, Verlander and Upton have been spotted at events together, from Super Bowl parties in New York to a recent Orlando magic game. On Tuesday, the starting pitcher admitted that he and Upton are now "in a great spot" while speaking to ESPN baseball analyst Karl Ravech.

"I lose credibility if I don't ask you about Kate Upton," Ravech explained to Verlander on ESPN's "Baseball Tonight" special, according to USA Today.

In response, Verlander attempted to keep details about his personal life secretive.

"I've always been pretty private about my private life," the 31-year-old athlete said. "Especially with her, but, you know, I'm in a great spot and just looking to get ready for the season."

"Everybody out there agrees, you're in a great spot, in so many different ways," Ravech quipped as Verlander laughed.

Verlander and the Detroit Tigers will open their season at home on March 31 with a three-game series against the Kansas City Royals, and will close the season with a six-game homestand against the Chicago White Sox and the Minnesota Twins. Alternately, Upton has become one of the most sought-after models in fashion today, and recently appeared in Sports Illustrated's annual swim suit edition.

Verlander's comments about Upton come after the pair was spotted on a tropical vacation together last month. According to an eyewitness in the Bahamas, Verlander and the 21-year-old model were "looking very cozy" while on vacation.

"We spotted them looking very cozy having dinner at the restaurant Mahogany House near Lyford Cay," the onlooker told Us Weekly.

According to tine witness, Upton looked casual wearing her hair in a bun paired with a scarf while she sat "on the same side of the table" as Verlander during the meal.
