'Vice Principals' Season 2 Spoilers: Will Lee Russell Be Fired?

The job of Lee Russell (Walton Goggins) might be on the line when "Vice Principals" returns for a new episode on Sunday, Oct. 22. He's not exactly doing well in his position as principal and he's not a good person in general. Will he be fired in the upcoming episode?

"Vice Principals" season 2 episode 6 will delve on a standardized test in the episode entitled "The Most Popular Boy." Russell will supposedly jeopardize the test, which could find Neal Gamby (Danny McBride) in a precarious spot.

Given how Russell's mind works, would it be safe to assume he might manipulate or sabotage the standardized test in favor of North Jackson High? Since this test is usually the gauge of how good or bad a school is based on the students' scores, then sabotaging the results would be like something that Russell would do.

As for Gamby, he's been eyeing Russell's position since the power grab last season. Confirming the anomaly might boost his chances of replacing Russell, however, it could also hurt the school, which could still affect his job.

Meanwhile, the last episode of "Vice Principal" season 9 featured Russell's birthday bash. He acted like a spoiled teenager the whole time, causing his wife Christine (Susan Park) to lash out at him in front of their guests.

Gamby, on the other hand, seems to be turning around for the better while his friend is slowly disintegrating into that vile person he's supposed to be. Gamby tries to reconnect with Amanda Snodgrass (Georgia King) by helping out one of the kids under her care, Robin.

Gamby's interest in straightening out Robin, however, seemed genuine. He could turn out to become a compassionate man after all, as the episode's title suggested. There is hope for Gamby's redemption.

"Vice Principals" season 2 airs Sunday nights at 10:30 EST on HBO. This will be the show's final season according to McBride.
