Fashion icon Victoria Beckham came out swinging against critics calling her "gaunt" and "miserable" in recent reports.
The 37-year-old mother of four replied to harsh comments from entertainment journalists' comments with honesty.
"Look, if people want to say that I'm miserable then so be it. I'm really not," Beckham told the U.K.'s Daily Mirror. "I have a lot on my plate. I'm not going to lie about it, I'm tired."
She noted, "I'm really tired but I'm also very happy with my life."
The former Spice Girl married soccer superstar David Beckham in 1999. They live in Los Angeles with their four children, Brooklyn; 12, Romeo; 9, Cruz; 6, and Harper; seven months.
Beckham, who presented a new fashion collection at New York Fashion Week last week, spends a lot of time traveling. Also, her husband's career has accelerated over the past year, with him launching an underwear line at H&M- his first brand in apparel.
"I'm not getting much sleep at all," the singer-turned-designer continued to explain to The Mirror. "Harper's not sleeping that great, and I've been taking Skype business calls throughout the night too, because of the collections. I'm up with the baby as all mums are, and I wouldn't have it any other way."
"There's not a team of people doing it for me," she pointed out.
Beckham's new dress line, Victoria Beckham, just released its spring collection while her new collection for Victoria Beckham is being reviewed by buyers for next fall and winter.
"I'm basically just like any woman who's working and has lots of children- it's tough," admitted the designer.
Beckham has wowed critics in regards to her eighth collection of high-end dresses for her Victoria Beckham line.
During the New York fashion show, David commented on his wife's work.
"I think the collection is very strong," said the soccer star and model speaking to Bang Media.
"Very, very sexy, and there were some amazing shapes on the girls - it's been a successful morning. This is my first show and it's nice to be involved, and to see how hard my wife works," he added.
