Wacky Videos Make YouTube Star RayWj A Millionaire

Ray William Johnson, known as RayWj on social networking site YouTube, is a 30-year-old self made millionaire who makes a fortune by posting homemade videos online.

The foul-mouthed funnyman draws in more than 780 million visitors to his popular "Your Favorite Martian" YouTube channel every month, earning him a whopping $1 million salary each year.

Johnson regularly posts videos of himself ranting about various topics and often mocking viral YouTube videos, and critics have begun comparing his questionable sense of humor to that of E! network host of "The Soup," Joel McHale.

While some take offense to his viral videos, others continue to tune in to his personal channel and whether fans love him or loathe him, the Oklahoma native is said to be earning anywhere from $3,000 to $9,000 per every two million views from YouTube, according to the Wall Street Journal.

"I run advertisements and sell T-shirts to cover overhead costs and pay the few people who help me out behind the scenes. Anything left over is spent on production costs, animation costs, etc," Johnson wrote in an email to the Journal.

Contrary to reports that he is a successful millionaire as a result of his comical videos, Johnson denies that he is making good money, which critics attribute to his possible preference for financial privacy.

"Maybe someday, if I work hard enough, entertainment will be a career for me, but right now making videos and uploading them to the Internet is just a hobby," Johnson wrote.

On his Twitter page, Johnson takes a humorous approach to describing himself, which is a trait that allegedly continues to make him rich.

"I produce a few shows. I'm also sexually attracted to women who look like Abraham Lincoln," his Twitter bio states.
