'Watch Dogs 2' Release Date, Features, News & Updates: New Open World Action-Adventure Video Game is Bigger, Better & Different From The Original
"Watch Dogs 2," the upcoming open world action-adventure third-person shooter video game of Ubisoft Montreal, will be bigger and better than its predecessor. Aside from featuring a new protagonist, the developers of the game also ensured that the final product will not be graphically downgraded.

According to Venture Beat, the sales of the original "Watch Dogs" hit over 10 million. Despite the success, the game developers decided to make a different approach to the storyline of the video game by introducing a new protagonist and transferring the setting from the dreary Chicago to the vibrant San Francisco Bay Area.

Players will be taking the role of the new protagonist Marcus Holloway, a member of "Dedsec," a hacking group that go against personalities who abuse technology to gain money and power. Holloway is described as an open-minded and light-hearted hacker, who is totally different from Aiden Pierce, the protagonist of the original "Watch Dogs" who is seeking revenge due to his dark past.
Why 'Watch Dogs 2' Has a New Protagonist
In an interview with PCGamesN, Jonathan Morin, "Watch Dogs 2" creative director, said that unlike Pierce who is a "forced hero," Holloway is just having fun. He explained that the decision to replace Pierce came after realizing that his personality will not fit the new setting of the game.
"We changed the perspective we are giving players on our universe: this time you play a hacker within a Hacktivist group fighting a corrupt establishment," Dominic Guay, "Watch Dogs 2" producer, told The Evening Standard. He added that the new setting, the new characters and the overall tone of the game were part of the changes they wanted to introduce to the "Watch Dogs" players.
'Watch Dogs 2' Won't be a Disappointment
The first "Watch Dogs" was heavily criticized because the final product was downgraded graphically. Reports said that a lot of fans were disappointed after they found out the video game did not live up to its hype in terms of graphics quality.
Guay assured that "Watch Dogs 2" will not suffer the same downgrade. Guay stated that the developers took the feedback from the fans very seriously to make "Watch Dogs 2" a better version. He added that the past issues of the video game were already fixed and fans could expect that new video game will be more fun and engaging with enhanced features.
