Westboro Baptist Church, Blake Shelton Spar Over His Marriage to Miranda Lambert

Westboro Baptist Church is now engaged in a battle of wits and words with country singers Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert. The organization stated that Shelton is an adulterer and has even gone so far as to release a parody of his song "Boys 'Round Here."

Shelton divorced his first wife, Kaynette Williams, and is currently married to Miranda Lambert. The Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) has called him a "vulgar adulterer," "pervert," and "beast" and plans to picket his concert on October 3. The WBC has also called Lambert and Shelton fake Christians and made a parody of "Boys 'Round Here," entitled "God Gave Me You."

"Any beast can call himself Christian (ahem @blakeshelton). We must identify that phony [expletive] & warn him," @WBCSays tweeted in a war of words. "Jesus gave WBC a commission: preach the gospel to every creature. So thx @blakeshelton & @mirandalambert for helping!"

Shelton has responded in his own way, challenging the WBC and defending his lifestyle, including his marriage to Lambert.

"It gives me peace knowing that not one of the waterheaded [expletive] from WBC could ever whip my ass… Ever," Shelton tweeted. "Hey @WBCSays… This isn't about God. It's about me using this opportunity to make y'all look like the absolute complete [expletive] you are."

Lambert has also joined in the argument, tweeting that "it's such a shame when people use God as an excuse to get publicity. And they couldn't be farther from God… I'm glad I know [my] maker so well."

"@Mirandalambert don't lie," WBC responded. "If you know your Maker so well, why defy him by your 'marriage' to @blakeshelton??"

Of course, Shelton and Lambert aren't the only targets of the WBC, which previously protested country legend Vince Gill's concert on Sept. 8. He too, has been divorced and remarried.

"Don't you know that divorce plus remarriage equals adultery?" one of the picketers asked Gill. "Jesus Christ said that."

"Did he? You know what else he said?" Gill responded. "He said a lot of stuff about forgiveness, about grace. You guys don't have any of that."
