Wii Fit U Release Date Delayed in Europe, Pushed Back One Week

Wii Fit U will be delayed for one week in Europe and will now launch at December 13.

According to Kotaku the physical game was supposed to launch on Dec. 6, but a downloadable version of the game is available on Nintendo's eShop until January 31 2014.

The eShop download is a free trial run that began this month, and can be downloaded if the gamer has a balance board. It is playable for only 31 days after download. Gamers who purchase the Fit Meter accessory and sync it to the game will be able to play Wii U Fit forever, reported Slashgear. The Fit Meter retails for $19.99.

Nintendo is also rolling out a few Wii U bundles starting at $320 in Japan, and those offers could come statewide this holiday season. The first package goes for $352 and will contain New Super Mario Bros U, Wii Party U, and Wii Fit U. It will launch on Oct. 31 and also offer the same package minus Wii Fit U for $320.

The Wii Fit U bundle is the same price, includes the same games, but adds a sensor bar, Fit Meter, and a Wiimote.

Each of the bundles give the buyer a choice between having a Wii U in black or white and all the software comes pre-installed, according to Polygon. It will also contain a 30-day subscription to Karaoke U.

Wii Fit will also introduce its female trainer character in Super Smash Bros 4. This will be the first time the character appears in the popular fighting series.

The Female Wii Fit trainer was a confirmed character in the game and now in a new screenshot it shows a Male Wii Fit trainer as well.

The two are seen together in one of the levels suggesting his involvement with the game. More than likely the main player to select is the female with the alternate costume being the male version. Usually there are a variety of different colors and costumes characters wear, and in this case it is just changing the gender.

"Pic of the day. The trial version of Wii Fit U is available now! We'd like to share this pic to commemorate the occasion," said Sakurai in the photo that can be seen here.
