Windows 8.1: Upgrade for A Better Skype Experience

Microsoft's latest operating system, Windows 8.1, is making its way around the market and it is looking to be a good upgrade for avid Skype users.

The latest update to the Windows 8 is not only free, which is a definite big plus for some users, but it also provides a new and better user experience for those who constantly use Skype thanks to its more improved features.

Taking a picture and adding contacts is easier done with the Skype for Windows 8.1. version. It is also easier to chat with other users, make and receive voice and video calls, and send and receive text messages. However, it is still recommendable to upgrade to the premium account to connect Skype to non-Skype numbers.

Skype also has a better and slicker design with a simpler interface and a quick-start tutorial for those who are using it for the first time. An account is also created automatically provided the user is signed into the Windows 8.1. through a Microsoft login.

A Skype tile can also be added to the Windows start screen once the user upgrades their operating system to the Windows 8.1 version. Users can quickly go online and access Skype straight from the start screen.

Skype is not just the only app that showcase a better user experience thanks to the Windows 8.1.

The Microsoft OneDrive is a cloud storage device that has a built-in photo editor and a built-in photo viewer to help view contents in a sleek, easy-to-watch slideshow presentation.

The Tapatalk is an online forum that helps a user get in touch with other people and provides an easy way to post comments, reply to other users, add attachments to replies and view notifications.

Clouder! Is Windows 8.1's free music app that connects directly to the user's SoundCloud account and provides a more improved musical experience.

The update to the Windows 8.1 is usually automatic to the Windows OS, but to check their version users can go to the "PC Info" on their PCs and click "Edition" to see if they can upgrade to the latest version.
