Wladimir Klitschko Fight News 2016: Brother Vitali Believes 'Dr. Steelhammer' Would Avenge Recent Loss In Rematch With Fury

Former boxing heavyweight world champion and now local Ukraine politician Vitali Klitschko believes that his younger brother, Wladimir, would be able to bounce back in his rematch against Tyson Fury.

Wladimir was dealt with his first loss since 2004 when he fought Fury in late November 2015 in Dusseldorf, Germany. The younger British boxer outpointed "Dr. SteelHammer" to win the WBO, WBA (Super), IBF, and IBO world titles. It also marked the end of Wladimir's nine-year reign as the heavyweight world champion.

Wladimir opted to exercise the rematch clause that was agreed upon prior to the fight, in which Fury obliged to. The bout is scheduled for a still undetermined date in 2016.

In a report by Vadim Pushkin for Boxingscene, Vitali spoke about his thoughts on the fight.

Firstly, he sounded off on how many people tend to belittle both their wins against their opponents. He then went on to speak about his brother's performance during fight night, which he admitted, was a puzzling occurrence.

He also pointed out that he was surprised at how Fury was able to easily have his way with the younger Klitschko.

"There are days when [your body does not work as it should] and the speed is not present, and there is no power," Vitali said, according to the report. "And I told him...'Wladimir, what happened to you? I didn't recognize you.' That was probably not his day."

Wladimir later admitted that he had trouble dealing with Fury's reach, where he was at a disadvantage by four inches. But despite this, Vitali believes that his brother would emerge victorious in the rematch.

The report adds that the elder Klitschko gave his brother two choices: the first one was for him to say that he was the strongest, that no one was able to do what he has done, and thank everyone for the support.

The second option was for him to come back strong and show everyone that what happened on fight night was a "pure accident." According to Vitali, his brother chose the second option.

"He has a very good chance [to win], and I am confident that Wladimir will make good use of this opportunity," Vitali said.
