'Wonder Woman' Film Trilogy Rumors, News: First Movie Set in the 1920s

A lot of fans may have known that Wonder Woman will be getting her own solo flick from DC Comics and Warner Bros. She will be played by Israeli supermodel and actress Gal Gadot. She's also set to appear in the upcoming "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" together with Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill.

Until now, word on the streets suggests that the solo outing would be set in the modern day era. But that could be wrong.

The story will take back the fans to the origin of the Amazonian in her home at Paradise Island, where conflicts of power between two Amazon factions are undergoing, according to the Bleeding Cool website.

Everything changed when a man arrived on the island asking for their help. Wonder Woman will then follow the man on his return to the world that is in the 1920s. The film will then show Princess Diana exploring the world of Man where culture clashes with her own.

The rumors from an unnamed source that claims to have read the greenlit treatment for the first "Wonder Woman" movie, reported Bleeding Cool. The title franchise will be comprised of three films.

The succeeding sequels will then take the character in the World War II era, and modern day era will be the backdrop for "Wonder Woman 3," where she will be joining the Justice League of America.

"These sound like really great ideas for Wonder Woman, particularly for the first film, which should allow for some beautiful explorations of her origins and reflect the feminist ideals of her character," Screen Crush said.
