'Wreck-It Ralph 2' News: Sequel Confirmed by John C. Reilly

Rumors of a sequel for Disney's hit 3D animated film, "Wreck-It Ralph," began as far back as December of 2012. The talks remained as mere speculations until the voice talent behind the eponymous arcade villain, John C. Reilly, confirmed in an interview that he will be returning as Wreck-It Ralph.

The news was announced by the host of Irish radio program "RTE Arena" Penny Hart, through her social media account.

"John C Reilly announced at the interview today that he has signed on for Wreck it Ralph 2!" Hart's Twitter post reads.

Back in 2013, filmmaker Rich Moore told the Huffington Post that he, like Sarah Silverman who voice-acted Vanellope, would be more than willing to return for a follow-up of the critically-acclaimed animation.

"I've talked with John [C. Reilly] and Sarah [Silverman] and we would all love to visit that world again and work with those characters again," he said.

Although her involvement for the sequel hasn't been confirmed yet, Silverman was previously quoted for her desire to reprise her role as the "Sugar Rush" racer/glitch. It would also remain to be found out if Jane Lynch (as Sergeant Tamora Jean Calhoun) and Jack McBrayer (as Fix-It Felix, Jr.) is down for the project.

Collider.com speculated on the story, saying that "it could still be a long ways off" before Part 2 will come to fruition given that the studio still has "Zootopia" and "Moana" planned for 2016.

"Then there's the question of how fast they want to/are able to get Frozen 2 into theaters. And this is all in addition to unannounced titles the studio might be working on," the site said.
