WWE 2014 News: Kevin Nash and Son Arrested for Fighting at Florida Home

WWE star Kevin Nash and his 18-year old son Tristen were arrested on Wednesday, Christmas Eve after getting into a fight at their Florida home.

Nash and Tristen were taken into police custody early in the morning and later released. Both face charges of misdemeanor first degree battery. If convicted, they face a maximum sentence of one year in jail and a $1,000 fine.

According to WFTV, an attorney who represented the father and son at a court appearance later that afternoon said that the incident was an isolated family matter and won't happen again.

Police said that they responded to a 911 call made from a residence just after midnight regarding a physical domestic disturbance involving Nash and his son. According to the police report which E! News got a copy of, the wrestler told the deputy who arrived at their house that Tristan had "arrived home intoxicated" and acted "disrespectful" and "belligerent" towards him and his wife, Tristen's mother, Tamara.

The report stated that Nash told the deputy that Tristen "spit in his face and shoulder/elbow checked him."

The deputy's report goes on to detail that at that point, Nash took a hold of his son and took him to the ground. Meanwhile, the teenager told police that he had gotten into a "verbal argument" with his father and said that the wrestler "got upset due to him being intoxicated and having relationship issues with his girlfriend."

Tristen claims that his dad "took a hold of his throat with one hand" and grabbed his right shoulder with his other hand and forced him to the ground. He said that his father held him down on the ground and put pressure on his chest which rendered him unable to breathe.

Meanwhile, Tamara told the police after her husband was taken into custody that Tristen "attacked him" and that "she was in fear due to past physical altercations between her and her son."

"Tamara Nash expressed concerned that her son, Tristen, would destroy the house and possibly become physically abusive towards her if they both stayed at the residence," police said in their report.

The fight led to a WWE suspension for Nash.

In a statement, the WWE said, "Kevin Nash has not regularly performed for WWE since January 2004. He is currently under a non-wrestling 'legends' contract which has been immediately suspended until this domestic dispute is resolved."

Though Nash has not given an official statement about the incident, the wrestler took to Twitter after being released.

"To those who have given their love. The best gift I could receive. The pain of the last 24 hours will never be erased," he tweeted. "Just wanted to say thank you to the women and men at the Volusia country Detention center for being so professional in your treatment."
