WWE News: John Cena On Donald Trump; Management Presents Custom World Title Belt To US Troops

Former World Wrestling Entertainment champion John Cena weighed in on presidential candidate Donald Trump's recent comments regarding Muslims in the United States. The WWE brass, on the other hand, awarded a custom title belt to the United States Troops.

Currently on an indefinite hiatus, Cena has been fulfilling other obligations as a celebrity figure. In mid-November, it was announced that the sports entertainment superstar would be hosting a military-themed reality show on FOX Entertainment entitled "American Grit".

The said program is scheduled to begin airing in 2016. Recently, Cena appeared on the Today Show, where he also touched on the current issue involving United States presidential candidate Donald Trump. Trump recently proposed a ban on all Muslim non-citizens from entering the country, in response to Islamic State terrorist acts.

According to Cena, the 69-year old business magnate was just being his old "bold" and "brash" self.

"The last time we did anything like it was in World War II and that was one of the more reprehensible acts by the United States of America: 'We are the melting pot...except for you,'" Cena said in the Today Show guesting. "That does not go along with our DNA."

"Trump is being Trump. There's no other way to say it," he added.

Meanwhile, in an act of goodwill, the WWE's top management decided to present a custom-made title belt to some members of the United States Navy.

In a report by Bill Hanstock of Cageside Seats, WWE head honcho Vince McMahon and Executive Vice President for Talent/Live Events/Creative Triple H (Paul Levesque in real life) presented the custom WWE World Heavyweight Championship belt to Captains Stacy K. Wright and Scott Gray.

This is not the first time the WWE has given away such a memento. The report adds that the company had previously given out a special belt to Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors for winning the 2015 NBA championship.

They also gave one out to the Kansas City Royals, this year's World Series champions.
