'X Factor' Elimination: Who Was Cut?

The Stereo Hogzz have been cut from this season of “X Factor” in a tough decision Thursday.

The bottom two saw groups The Stereo Hogzz and Lakoda Rayne. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, The Stereo Hogzz admitted that they had given American voters the wrong impression and may have appeared conceited.

Their performance of Michael Jackson’s “You Are Not Alone” on Wednesday did not impress the audience or judge Simon Cowell. As a result, the group found themselves at risk of elimination Thursday.

“X Factor” judge Paula Abdul had the hardest time cutting the group, but once Cowell added his vote, the Stereo Hogzz headed home.

Lakoda Rayne took judge L.A. Reid’s advice and stuck to country music. The group’s performance Wednesday barely saved them from elimination.

Contenders on the show range in age and background – including solo acts as well as groups. The reality singing show pits contestants against each other as viewers vote each week to determine the winner.

It is hard to ignore the blatant similarities to Cowell’s former show “American Idol,” but Simon is quick to point out how the differences in the series makes “X Factor” superior.

The British judge told TV Guide, “I was making a lot of money on ‘American Idol,’ but I did ‘X Factor’ because I genuinely felt this was a better show. I personally was happier sitting on a show where older people could compete with younger people who could compete with groups. I just preferred that process.”

Recently the dark past of remaining contestant Rachel Crow was revealed. The 13-year old vocalist reportedly lived in a crack den and suffered from abuse when she was just an infant, according to Crow’s adoptive mother Barbara.

On “X Factor” Wednesday, Rachel sang a powerful rendition of Etta James “I’d Rather Go Blind” – awing the audience and making her the top-rated performer of the night.

The ten remaining “X Factor” contestants will perform live on next week’s show continuing the competition for a $5 million dollar first-place prize.
