Zayn Malik News: Zayn Finally Releases His First Single After Leaving One Direction

Zayn Malik finally released his first single, "Pillowtalk," after leaving One Direction.

"Pillowtalk" is the first single released from "Mind of Mine," which is the name of Zayn's first solo album that will be released this March. Many fans have been anticipating the album's release since the 23-year-old singer left One Direction in 2015.

The former boy band member's song came out late last night, Jan. 28, and his fans were shocked to hear a lot of X-rated words and much mature music. According to Forbes, Zayn is now sounding more R&B than the pop/rock that fans are used to hear from him when he was still a member of One Direction. In his newest single, it's plenty of adult themes, which can also be seen on the music video that was released at the same time the single came out.

The video is described to be super artistic and beautiful, which is also healthy with special effects. The website said that it appears to be heavily budgeted since the video came out with "full treatment."

Gigi Hadid, Zayn's rumored girlfriend, stars with him in the music video, according to MTV. The video shows both stars navigating through a "kaleidoscopic paradise and war zone," with lots of flowers, as well as black tears. And of course, the rumored couple are seen making out in the video.

In other news, Zayn revealed that he didn't want to be part of One Direction, and wanted to leave during their first year together, according to Sydney Morning Herald. He was interviewed by DJ Zane Lowe on Apple Music's Beats 1, and it is where he revealed that he never wanted to be part of a band. "I just gave it a go because it was there at the time. When I realized the direction we were going in with the music, I instantly realized it wasn't for me," Zayn said.
