Actress Zooey Deschanel has filed for divorce from Death Cab for Cutie band mate, Ben Gibbard.
Deschanel filed the divorce on December 27, citing irreconcilable differences. Attached to the divorce papers, was also the actress’s spending report.
TMZ reported that the actress makes about $95,000 a month. Her expenses average $22,550 a month. She has three credit cards that have a combined limit of $5000 but they all have a zero balance. She has over $1.5 million in the bank, and she donates $1,500 a month to charity.
Despite the divorce, Deschanel has still had a successful year. She was recently nominated for best actress in her television series “New Girl” which was also nominated as best comedy.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, a year before the actress and musician had contemplated giving up Hollywood but has now said, “This is the best job I’ve ever had." The Golden Globe nominations were announced Thursday morning.
The “New Girl” actress plays the character of Jess, described by the show as “off-beat” and “unusual,” and often a nerd.
“It's rare that you find really great parts,” Deschanel said. She also received a Grammy nomination for Best Song Written for Visual Media for her work on the film “Winnie the Pooh” earlier on in the month.
The actress has made appearances in movies like “Yes, Man” and “500 Days of Summer.” She is also known for her musical talents and is part of the indie duo “She & Him” with Mathew Ward, known as M. Ward. The duo traveled across the U.S. and Europe.
Deschanel described the past month as “thrilling.” She received phone calls about the nomination in the early morning and celebrated the news with long-term manager Liz Meriwether.
Paper blog described the actress as Hollywood’s “it” girl and has said “What can’t Zooey Deschanel get away with without the media calling it adorable or cute…Deschanel has a reputation of being quirky and adorable.”
