Living in Urgent Times

By Pat Klein

The Great Commission calls for every believer to spread the Gospel to all the nations of the world. At Vision Beyond Borders, we firmly believe that by giving the Word of God to people worldwide in their own language, we are helping to fulfill the Great Commission.

Over the last 30 years, Vision Beyond Borders has distributed over 3.4 million Bibles to countries worldwide through generous supporters like yourself. We pray that we can continue to provide Bibles, free of charge, to countries with restricted access and to share the Gospel in unreached villages and people groups.

We have the privilege to work with pastors and evangelists worldwide, many who are persecuted for their faith but are willing and able to give Bibles to those in need in their area. We hear stories of gratitude firsthand from those receiving Bibles, just like this little girl named Sara.

Sara lives in a remote, poor mountain region of Venezuela. Sara and her family did not own their own Bible, but Sara longed to have one. One day she felt very strongly that the Lord told her that He was bringing Bibles to their village. Her family laughed at the notion. Not long after this, one of Vision Beyond Border’s contacts was on their way to deliver Bibles to villagers on the other side of the mountain. Due to the mountainous terrain, the contact lost their way after driving around for three hours and found themselves at a dead end at a remote settlement. After discovering they were on the mountain's opposite side, they offered the people in the village Bibles. One of those to receive a Bible was Sara. She was so overjoyed that she could only cry tears of joy.

Vision Beyond Borders has been distributing Bibles to people like Sara and her family all over the globe. In Honduras, we have delivered Bibles to be distributed and read within the public school system. It is incredible to see school kids receiving a Bible after repenting and trusting in Jesus Christ as their Lord. We believe that God is using these kids to impact their families with the Gospel, and they, in turn, will impact their villages and countries with the truth of Jesus Christ.

In Southeast Asia, the church continues to grow even in the face of persecution. Vision Beyond Borders recently gave 1,000 Bibles to a pastor who helped start 800 churches in his country despite imprisonment for seven years. He was grateful for the Bibles and asked for 10,000 more.

While traveling in Pakistan, we gave a Bible to a man, and when he received it, he kissed it and began to cry. He had been praying for a Bible for many years and was so grateful for a copy of God’s Word in his own language. We have seen this many times over the years. People long for Bibles and are so blessed to receive one they can only weep. We can give people no greater gift than the Word of God in their own language.

As we continue to see the need for Bibles worldwide, our hearts are burdened, and asking God to bless this ministry with the needed funds. While we are truly grateful for the gifts of generous donors, raising funds has been challenging because of the enormous demand. Our passion at Vision Beyond Borders is to get God's Word to those in need worldwide.

We ask that you pray for us that God would provide as we get His Word around the world and fulfill the great commission of Jesus to share the Gospel with those hungry and thirsty for Him.

In this next year, we aim to print 500,000 Spanish Bibles for Latin America and 500,000 more Bibles for closed countries. This can only happen through generous supporters like yourself. Go to Vision Beyond Borders to learn more and become a part of this global movement.
