Female Lead Star for Upcoming 'The Flash' Movie Shortlisted: Kiersey Clemons Among Top Choices
Lucy Boynton and Rita Ora Also Shortlisted to Portray Female Lead Role in The Flash
Casting of the upcoming movie "The Flash" has already begun. There now have been reports claiming that the director may already have chosen or at least shortlisted the actresses to play the female lead role in the movie.
Who will be the lead female star?
According to Coming Soon, when talking about the actress to play the female main role of the movie "The Flash", there are three names that have come to mind -- Kiersey Clemons, Lucy Boynton and Rita Ora. As recalled, Clemons already starred in the movie "Dope" directed by Rick Famuyiwa, who is also going to be directing "The Flash". Lucy Boynton is known for "Sing Street" which is a musical comedy-drama film while Rita Ora for the movie "50 Shades of Grey".
Iris West character
There hasn't been any confirmation yet as to the character to be portrayed by the female lead. However, there have been speculations saying that it is going to be the character of Iris West, as reported by Variety.
Iris is journalist and friend of Barry Allen, who is the alter ego of the Flash. In the CW series currently being aired to date which is already on its 3rd season, the character of Barry Allen/The Flash is being portrayed by actor Grant Gustin and Iris West by actress Candice Patton. It has also been revealed that the character of Iris is first going to be revealed on the big screen in Zack Snyder's upcoming movie "Justice League" which is set to be aired on November 17 next year.
Production to start this year
Production of "The Flash" has already overcome their problem of replacing the film's original director, Seth Grahame-Smith, who left the project due to creative differences. However, despite this hurdle, the film still appears to be able to meet its scheduled start date. Production is expected to start this year, as soon as casting has already been finalized. The studio is still keeping the most recent draft of the script by Smith before he left the project.
The character of the Flash is said to be portrayed by actor Ezra Miller, who initially appeared in Warner Bros.' "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Release date of the movie has not yet been revealed.
