One way for Christmas shoppers to save is to look for gifts online.

The second is for consumers to look for online coupons and coupon codes. A recent telephone survey found that only 48 percent of shoppers in the U.S. plan to look for online coupons for coupon codes to save money on Christmas shopping. But these codes and coupons offer extra discounts that can’t be found in stores.

Another way for online Christmas shoppers to save money is to look for sites offering free shipping. This year in particular, more online stores are offering free shipping in order to entice customers to do business with them. Not only can a customer purchase something at a discounted price, but they can save on shipping costs as well.

Offers.com also urges consumers to do their research to find the best shopping deals during the Christmas season. Most large retail stores announce their new deals in the weeks leading up to Christmas. This gives consumers time to find the best bargains on hot items by researching both retail and online outlets.

One last tip Offers.com gives is for consumers to determine a budget and make a list to prevent overspending. Shopping online also helps a customer when they set a budget since they can keep better track of what they purchase.
