The incident occurred just days after the funeral of Ali's boxing rival, Joe Frazier. The emergency call was made from the 6,000 square foot estate where Ali resides with his wife Yolanda.

“The victim started to pass out in the car and when they got him into the house he fell unconscious,” said a Paradise Valley Police spokesperson to Star Magazine.

"The 911 tape was filled with details of prescriptions and medical details about the victim who was suffering from an ongoing medical condition," the spokesperson added.

Ali has suffered from Parkinson's disease for 27 years. He was last seen in public in Philadelphia around the time of Joe Frazier's funeral.

 Muhammad Ali Taken to Hospital

A source close to the situation told Star that the family has many medical specialists in the area, so they must have "really been scared" to call 911. Reports have not indicated how long Ali was at the hospital for, but they did reveal the star has since recovered from the incident.

In the prime of his boxing career, Ali was known for his outspoken and flamboyant personality. He was born Cassius Clay Marcellus Clay, Jr., but changed his name after joining the Nation of Islam in 1964.

Ali took a hard-line stance against the Vietnam War and was publicly criticized for his refusal to serve in the United States military.

The boxer had a bitter rivalry with Joe Frazier throughout his career. Frazier defeated Ali in what was dubbed the "Fight of the Century," handing Ali his first loss as a professional.

Frazier was diagnosed with liver cancer in September, and he died Nov. 7.
