NFL 2015 Free Agency News, Rumors: Where Will Ndamukong Suh Move To?

The Detroit Lions chose not to use their franchise tag on DT Ndamukong Suh. That will mean for the first time in his career this firebrand will hit the free agent market and becomes the highest profile defensive player to do so since Reggie White choose to sign with the Green Bay Packers. The Packers used that move to make a statement that they were getting back to their championship roots, and White was a key member of their Super Bowl championship team in the late 1990's.

Now another team has a chance to sign a guy that can not only increase their national exposure but get one of the most feared defenders in the NFL today. Many teams have interest in Suh, but he will command top dollar and will have to sign with a team that meets both the terms of his football agent, and that of his marketing agent rap mogul Jay Z.

The New York Giants have 13 million or so under the 2015 salary cap and would like to add Suh to their defensive line. Being in the New York market and hometown of Jay Z may be all the leverage the team needs to get a deal done. It would be take creative structuring to do it though. The Giants recent championship teams all featured a heavy pass rush up the middle and they have been successful against the New England Patriots with that. Suh would give them that any much more.

The Lions would love to resign their defensive star and they remain in the running. However, the Miami Dolphins (who have chased big names in the past rather unsuccessfully) may be the front runners at the moment, but with only 10 million in current cap space they would have to get very creative to afford the star.
