Quantum Break Release Date and Overview: Shooter Game to Debut with Steam in September
Earlier today, Windows and Remedy announced that a special edition of Quantum Break for PC will be available for retail next month, and it is going to be released through Steam.
The game Quantum Break is published by Nordic Games, which has taken over the post of THQ after purchasing the company and its brand name. In the recent years, Nordic Games has published best-selling games such as "Darksiders 2," "Ori," and "The Blind Forest."

"We are proud to announce a new triangle-collaboration with two of our trusted partners," said Reinhard Pollice, Nordic's business and product development director, in a statement. "Apart from being a new IP (which is always a brave step), Quantum Break turned out to be a sophisticated, visually stunning shooter with a top-notch cast of actors."
The boxed release of Quantum Break will include five game discs for installation, uncommon for a Steam game because of their game content is usually downloadable content. Included in the discs are the following: a documentary on Blu-ray of how the game was made, a game companion book, and a quick-start guide. There is also a soundtrack CD and a couple of posters included in the bundle. The box set and the Steam release will have all the released updates, which makes it a much more streamlined version of the game as compared to the launch version, which had several bugs and issues.
Installation requirements
Quantum Break was released in Steam with two very important changes: the minimum OS required to play the game was set to Windows 7 (64 bit) and DirectX 11. Previously, they required Windows 10 and DirectX 12. While this is an unexpected move from Windows, given how the adoption rate to Windows 10 has been going well, it is good news for gamers who cannot meet the previous requirements. It will surely increase sales of the game on the Steam platform.
Quantum Break was among the best-selling retail games in its first week of release. The game has also become the best-selling original product that has been produced by Microsoft since the release of its Xbox One gaming console. Both the Quantum Break Steam version and Timeless Collector's Edition Box sets are to be released on September 14. Both games will be sold at the retail price of $40.
