'Scandal' Season 5 Episode 9 Spoilers – Olivia Struggles To Find Footing In The White House
Season 5 of "Scandal" is sure to give viewers a cliffhanger in this episode before it takes a winter break. The main event of this episode is Olivia entering the White House as the First Lady and taking charge. The ninth episode is titled "Baby, It's Cold Outside" and the title gives an ominous hue to the events that will follow.
According to TVLine, the official release date of the next episode of "Scandal" after the winter break has been confirmed by ABC and it looks like the show will return on February 11, 2016.
The synopsis of this episode states: "Olivia is feeling more and more frustrated as she takes on 'First Lady' type responsibilities at the White House. Meanwhile, Mellie proves just how powerful she can be and Jake and Huck continue the hunt for Rowan."

In the previous episode, President Fitzgerald "Fitz" Grant was working on a peace treaty that would have important ramifications for the world if it goes underway.
The episode had opened with Liz handcuffed to a table, all bloody, and accused of setting her father Rowan Pope, a dreaded terrorist, free. Fitz asks if she prefers to set her father free instead of marrying him. Then there was a 48-hour back flashback that reveals all.
48 hours back, at a state dinner, the translator from Bandar, Navid, asks for political asylum and tells Liv to help in exchange for some secret information of the location of a secret data centre used by hackers to bring down the Western Nations. Liv gets him asylum but gets involved in her father's mess. When they meet, he tells her that she has the 'tools to survive.'
Soon, all is well between Fitz and Olivia and she is now set up in the White House. Surely Mellie is not going to leave it at this? Does this foreshadow what Olivia will bring to the table when Mellie puts pressure on her as she tries to do her best in the White House? It looks like all this is leading to some nail-biting cliffhangers at the end of this season.
After the winter break, the story arc of "Scandal" could be Olivia and Fitz in White House, dealing with intrigue and political demands every day. Will Jake and Huck be able to finally apprehend Rowan Pope in this episode or will he be up to new tricks after the break?
