'Wicked City' Episode 4 Spoilers – Betty Becomes Kent's Partner In Crime As They Search For Their Next Victim

The freshman season of "Wicked City" is getting more interesting as Betty now joins Kent in his spree of killings after she witnesses Kent kill Mallory. The season now seems to be focusing on Betty and somehow she feels more dangerous than Kent. Meanwhile, detectives Jack and Paco have found some information about Kent's first victim, Vera Bennett.

The synopsis for the upcoming episode 4 of "Wicked City" states: "Jack focuses on a woman from the murderer's past, thinking she may be the catalyst for his current killing spree; and Betty, after deciding to partner up with Kent, trolls a club with him in search of a victim. Elsewhere, Diver is upset when Karen is offered a job at Rolling Stone; and Dianne finds herself in a bad situation when her allegiances are questioned by a powerful drug lord."

The connection between Vera Bennett and Kent Grainger is quite interesting and hinges on the book, "The Phantom of the Opera."

When Kent was young and lost his mother, it was Vera, a local librarian, who consoled him and looked out for him. It was she who gave him the book to read, thinking it would divert his mind from his mother's death. Little did she know that she was feeding a monster.

As Kent grew up, he became obsessed with Vera, got jealous of her boyfriend and killed her. He kept her body in a secret place. But now, he seems to be wanting attention from the world after killing Mallory. He is sending the LAPD clues and leaving behind notes.

He led the LAPD detectives to an abandoned shop and left the shriveled-up body under the floorboards with a note that said, "Detective Roth, Sorry to have missed you. From your Secret Admirer and Mallory K."

This leads detectives Jack Roth and Paco Contreras to focus their attention on Vera, who they think is Kent's first victim.

This episode will see more participation from Betty Beaumontaine as she sheds her inhibitions and goes with Kent to search for their next victim. The transformation of Betty from a nurse and a young mother of two to a woman wanting to kill has been one of the fascinating aspects dealt with in "Wicked City."

How far will the two go before the two detectives and the LAPD catch them?
