WWE Draft 2016: Dean Ambrose, Finn Balor Lead Top 5 Draft Picks for Raw and Smackdown

The 2016 WWE Draft Will Shake Up the Roster

The WWE Brand Split/Draft is less than a week away, and with the recent naming of the COO of both brands, Shane going to Smackdown and Stephanie going to Raw, many are now trying to see which superstars will go where.

The WWE draft is always a hectic time for both shows, and a lot can happen in a short amount of time. WWE has to be careful, however, as putting a superstar together with the wrong people could spell disaster.

Dean Ambrose / Seth Rollins / Roman Reigns

It only makes sense to put the current world heavyweight champion on the flagship show. It would also make sense to put the superstars that he is currently feuding with on the same show.

The former members of the Shield are still set to meet at Battlegrounds at the end of the month, and Rollins and Ambrose have been carrying the story so far without Reigns and doing a great job at it. It would be hurtful to Raw if any of these stars would be taken off the roster.

Charlotte

The WWE Women's Championship will easily be paired with the World Heavyweight Championship. The current holder of the women's belt is Charlotte, and it does not look like she will be dropping the title any time soon.

While Charlotte's current reign is impressive, Raw will likely keep her as a heel champion and battle with already-established women wrestlers such as Paige and Natalya.

The New Day

The WWE Tag Team champions, the New Day looks like they are in a entrenched feud with the Wyatt Family. While the two factions are most likely going to have a match at Battleground, the WWE would not break up their most popular stable.

The Wyatt Family

One of the biggest problems with the Wyatt Family is that Bray Wyatt has basically stole all the screen time from the other members. While Wyatt is the most experienced of the group on the microphone, it would be nice to see if the other members such as Luke Harper or Erick Rowan bring to the table.

Rusev

Rusev is currently the U.S. champion and currently has a better storyline than the intercontinental champion, the Miz. With Raw drafting Rusev, this could mark the first time in a long time that the IC belt will exclusively be on Smackdown.

Smakdown!

Finn Balor

Former NXT champoin Finn Balor has long been rumored to be ready to move up to the main roster for months now, and fans want to see him there too. Drafting someone like Balor with its first pick would set the tempo really high for Smackdown.

John Cena

John Cena has been a Smackdown superstar before, and with the congestion at the top of the ladder on Raw, now would be a perfect time to have Cena go over to Smackdown. Cena would likely continue his feud with AJ Styles and the club, so it is highly possible that Styles will follow him.

AJ Styles / Bullet Club

While Raw would need to use its first three picks with Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns, it is highly likely that Smackdown can then use its first few picks getting talent such as AJ Styles and the Bullet Club.

AJ Styles is a great performer, and his current feud with John Cena has been nothing short of spectacular.

Kevin Owens / Sami Zayn

The former best friends and now rivals Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn have slowly become staples of the main roster. Again, if Raw needs to spend draft picks to get its affairs in order, these two young and hungry superstars could easily find themselves on Smackdown.

Both Owens and Zayn are championship material as both are former NXT champions. Owens even had a brief stint as the intercontinental champion last year.

The Miz / Maryse

The Miz is the current intercontinental champion and looks to be the only champion going to Smackdown initially. While its most likely that the WWE will be reinstating several belts to accommodate the Smackdown superstars, most of the current belts will most likely be staying on Raw.

Since the Miz has not had a lot to work on lately as his current reign has been put behind a lot of storylines, getting time on Smackdown could bring back some legitimacy back to his time as champion.
