1. Reaction to the Kermit Gosnell
In 2013, Pennsylvania abortionist Kermit Gosnell was convicted of three counts of first-degree murder for killing babies that were born alive after botched abortions.
Despite the major outcry over the nightmarish conditions of Gosnell's West Philadelphia clinic, the White House initially declined to comment on the case when asked about it, especially in light of Obama's history of opposing legislation mandating that a doctor save the life of a baby who survives an abortion.

In an interview with NBC during the trial, Obama explained that he was "familiar" with the trial, but did not believe the incident warranted common sense reform on abortion regulations, nor could he comment on it due it being an ongoing trial.
"What I can say is this: ... I think President Clinton said it pretty well when he said, 'Abortion should be safe, legal and rare,'" said Obama.
"If an individual carrying out an abortion, operating a clinic or doing anything else is violating medical ethics, violating the law, then they should be prosecuted."
