Britney Spears Wardrobe Malfunction Leaves Singer Undeterred

Britney Spears is the latest celebrity to fall victim to a wardrobe malfunction this week.

The embarrassing clothing mishap threatened to ruin the "Toxic" singer's performance during night two of her new residency in Las Vegas on Saturday, Dec. 28th.

However, Spears recovered beautifully from the clothing gaffe. Instead of pausing during the performance, the 31-year-old entertainer simply kept on dancing despite her costume falling open in the back, reported People.com.

Shortly thereafter, the pop star's back up dancers came to the rescue by forcing the glittery top back in place and closing the gap.

All the while, Spears continued to sing her hit song "Circus."

Meanwhile, Spear's two-year-residency at Vegas' Planet Hollywood Resort kicked off on Dec. 27th with Miley Cyrus in the audience.

"Britney: Part of Me" will include 40 shows, each lasting 90 minutes and covering both Spears' hit songs and new tracks from her latest album, "Britney Jean."

"I'm going to definitely do the greatest hits, but I'm going to have to put some of my new material in it to keep it fresh," Spears explained while on "Good Morning America" in November.

Spears is not the only celebrity to suffer from a wardrobe malfunction recently.

Over the summer, Eva Longoria suffered embarrassment on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival when the actress was forced to lift her dazzling green gown off the ground to avoid puddles.

However, in doing so, Longoria exposed the lower half of her body.

The bedazzled Versace Atelier gown featured cutout shoulders, an open back, and a very high split. As Longoria made her way to the theater, photographers snapped photos as she maneuvered through the rain, capturing the embarrassing moment.

Fortunately, the 38-year-old has a sense of humor, and posted a funny message to her Twitter followers the next day.

"Here's my dress for tonight," Longoria wrote, along with a snapshot of herself in a black gown. "No wardrobe malfunctions tonight!"
