A leading stewardship firm debuted what it calls an unprecedented small group study that facilitates accountability not just on money issues but also on time and talent.
"Revealed: The Life You've Only Imagined," a 30-day churchwide stewardship study, was introduced by Dallas-based RSI this week at the National Association of Church Business Administrators Conference in Grapevine, Texas.
According to RSI, "Revealed" is the only small group stewardship curriculum on the market designed as a churchwide program. It teaches church members how they can spend their time, talent and treasure in a way that God desires. The program includes weekly Bible study, DVD teachings featuring RSI President Doug Turner along with noted lead pastors such as Dr. Tim Keller of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York. Turner has worked with such congregations as Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, Ill., and Calvary Chapel in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
"I spent several years as a senior pastor and understand the challenge and frustration that comes with leading a congregation through the concept of biblical stewardship. 'Revealed' enables church leaders to teach stewardship as a 'people' issue, not a 'pocketbook' issue," said Turner. "This resource helps church leaders move their congregation into a 'culture of stewardship' by helping each member realize the magnitude of their God-given potential."
The kit comes with small group curriculum, sermon starters for a five-week campaign, pastor training DVD, reluctant leader and member DVD, and a campaign timeline among other contents. There are three different studies aimed at three age groups from children to senior adults.
"A life void of stress and worry is available to your church, but it requires surrender," Turner said. "A life of peace and fulfillment only comes when your members are willing to surrender their life to the Lord so that they no longer think about their time, their talent and their treasure, but rather God's time, God's talent and God's treasure. This 30-day study has the power to transform your Church but only if you are willing to fully dive in."
